I am a writer, editor and curator based in Somerset. My work spans art criticism, fiction and poetry. Formerly the Digital Editor of Apollo magazine, my writing has appeared in The Guardian, Burlington Contemporary, Flash Art, Plaster and Wallpaper, among other titles. I have interviewed the likes of Miranda July, Zineb Sedira, Laurie Anderson, Shirin Neshat, Jeff Koons, Rashid Johnson and Nadya Tolokonnikova; written essays on the work of artists such as Phyllida Barlow, Ed Atkins, Marina Abramović, Tacita Dean and Gerhard Richter; collaborated with artists and galleries on exhibition texts, audio guides, artist monographs and cross-disciplinary projects; and hosted artist talks at institutions such as the ICA, London.
I am also the founder of Babe Station, an evolving art and research group exploring the relationship between making art and motherhood. Through Babe Station, I have devised and led multidisciplinary workshops for all kinds of audiences, and in March I curated Sorry about the mess, a group exhibition supported by Bow Arts. The show brought together the work of artists and writers who are also mothers, received widespread media coverage, and welcomed hundreds visitors. I also run Babe Station Live, a roaming series of art and literary events featuring live readings and performances of work by artists, writers and performers who are also mothers.
My commercial work includes copywriting, script editing and creative concept development for leading organisations and brands, with a focus on art, luxury and lifestyle. Current and previous clients include Immersive International, Mandarin Oriental, Gaggenau, the Maybourne Group, the Rangoonwala Foundation, INA KESS and Boodles. I occasionally contribute travel pieces to Condé Nast Traveller and Mr & Mrs Smith, and I write a bi-monthly column on art hotels for Citizen Femme.
I hold a Master’s in Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia. My short fiction and poetry has been widely published in literary journals such as the Mechanics’ Institute Review, Studies in the Maternal, Motherlore, Soft Punk and The Dillydoun Review. My moveable poems have been the subject of a solo exhibition, titled more or less, at BOTH Gallery in Highgate.
